ARES Scholarships for Developing Countries in Belgium
Each year, the ARES provides students with the opportunity to study an advanced bachelor’s or master’s degree program, as well as a 2-to-6-month continuing education course, at a higher education institution in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Belgium.
Participating universities and academic institutions in Belgium are the host institution(s).
Bachelor’s, master’s, and continuing education courses in aquaculture, health, food technology, economics, international development, GIS, information technology, agriculture, environment, human rights, micro-finance, and other fields of study are all eligible.

NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
There are 130 bachelor’s and master’s degree scholarships available, as well as 70 grants for continuing study.
Nationals of Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Guinea (Conakry), Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe are among the target group.
The scholarship covers international travel expenses, a living allowance, registration fees, insurance, and a housing allowance, among other things.
ELIGIBILITY
To be valid, a request must meet the following criteria:
Be a national of, and reside and work in, one of the following countries: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Guinea (Conakry), Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia,
At the start of the course, the candidate must have held the applicable academic degree for a maximum of 20 years. This maximum period has been extended.
Have at least two years of relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country after completing advanced bachelor’s degrees, advanced master’s degrees, and continuing education courses.
Complete the application in the language in which the training will be delivered and attest to having a good written and oral command of the language. Furthermore, acquiring a basic level of French facilitates assimilation into daily life in Belgium.
Only apply for one training course at a time.
To be considered for an ARES scholarship, applicants must not have previously been accepted to a French-speaking university in Belgium.

Deadline for CUD ARES Master’s Degree/Training: January 28, 2022 (annual)
Belgium is a great place to study.
The program will begin in 2022.
